The Women of Soul Series launches a new season with a premier show at The Blue Note. Continuing the tradition of the Late Night Groove Series, Women of Soul delves into the depths of soul music to explore how it blends with rock, pop, jazz, experimental, and punk.
Stephanie Levine, founder of LoveBrand Records Entertainment Group, continues the tradition of showcasing women in music with tonight's show, which will be hosted by Kelsey Warren and will feature features performances by Maritri, Denise Barbarita & The Morning Papers, and Denitia Odigie.
Warren is the vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter for NYC's modern rock darling pILLOW tHEORY. Maritri performs extensively with The Soulfolk Experience and has worked with Barbara Streisand, Vinx, Corey Glover, The Indigo Girls, and more. Odigie is an American soul artist whose numerous EPs and debut full-length album experiment in psychedelic folk, country, lo-fi, grunge, and soul. Barbarita has released four albums, including her latest release, A Beautiful Mess – a powerful yet gentle musical journey featuring The Morning Papers.
