NYU jazz piano and composition faculty member Kenny Werner has performed with jazz greats Charles Mingus, Mel Lewis, Bob Brookmeyer, Ron Carter, Bobby McFerrin, Lee Konitz, Marian McPartland, Joe Henderson, Tom Harrell, Gunther Schuller, Paul Motian, John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, Eddie Gomez, Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, Toots Thielemans, and Joe Lovano, to name a few. He has also served as pianist, arranger, and musical director for the noted film, television, and Broadway star, Betty Buckley.

Werner's book Effortless Mastery - Liberating the Master Musician Within, has placed him in great demand as a clinician and teacher worldwide. Among his latest album are the Guggenheim Fellowship-winning No Beginning, No End (2010) and Institute of Higher Learning (2011).

This afternoon, Werner will perform with an ensemble featuring talented student musicians from NYU's Jazz Studies department.
