Live Tropical Fish was formed in Bologna, Italy. The group's first album, Shape Your Life, released through Irma Records/Sony, saw the band working together with Jay Rodriquez, saxophonist and leader of The Groove Collective (NYC-USA). The group's songs have also appeared on numerous international compilations. The band has many years of experience playing live both in Italy and abroad. It has opened concerts for Earth, Wind & Fire in Switzerland and for Chuck Berry and Willy DeVille at the Pistoia Blues festival. In addition, the band has performed at the Blue Note Club in Milan.

LISTEN TO LIVE TROPICAL FISH PERFORM "RUBBER SOUL," FEATURING OMAR

The live show brings the band and its audience together and will feature hypnotic and soul beats based on compositions from the group's new album, The Day is Too Short to Be Selfish. The album contains an explosive mix of soul, R&B, funk, jazz, Latin, and afrobeat. Very much an international project, the disc boasts as guest performers some of the most important names from the world of contemporary soul: Omar LyeFook (Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Leon Ware & Carleen Anderson), Deborah Jordan (Robert Mitchell Panacea project, Silhouette Brown & Emanative), Laurnea (Bobby McFerrin Ensemble), Alison Crockett (Roy Ayers, King Britt, Greg Osby & US3), Nick Rolfe (James Moody, Roy Hargrove, Angela Johnson & Lizz Wright), Maya Azucena (Stephen Marley & Bob Sinclair), and April Hill.

The new Live Tropical Fish show will bring nine artists onto the stage, including the core members Fabrizio “Doc Bix” Poli (percussion), Antonio “Lurpak” Fernè (bass), and Salvo Pignanelli (guitar).

In addition, the lineup will be further enriched by the internationally recognized Italian musician Maestro Beppe D’Onghia - the pianist, orchestra conductor, composer, and arranger who has already played Madison Square Garden and collaborates regularly with giants of the Italian pop and songwriting worlds, including Lucio Dalla, Samuele Bersani, Biagio Antonacci, Luca Carboni, Stadio, and the prestigious Arturo Toscanini Sinphonic Orchestra.

Also appearing this evening is Lele Veronesi, an excellent and very precocious drummer (he started his professional career at age 11) who boasts numerous national and international collaborations, including work with Biagio Antonacci, Gloria Gaynor, Renato Zero, Gino Paoli, Riccardo Cocciante, Amii Stewart, Cheryl Porter, Joyce Yuille, Dionne Warwick, The Platters, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Laura Pausini, Elisa, Giorgia, Spagna, Umberto Tozzi, Tullio De Piscopo, Gianni Morandi, and Jovanotti.

Live Tropical Fish is also pleased to feature the talents of special guests Sandra St. Victor and Maya Azucena in this evening's performance.
