Vocalist, trumpet player songwriter and producer Andrea Capozzoli is a force to be reckoned with on the modern music scene. Named 2004 "Female R&B Artist of the Year" at the New York International Music Festival, Andrea has gained great acclaim for her powerful energetic performances.
She has opened for the likes of Sister Sledge and Jessica Simpson, and has shared the stage with Slide Hampton, Bernard Purdie, Sean Jones and Erik Kloss among others. She had the distinct honor of performing at the Inaugural Ball for Deval Patrick and the Boston Inaugural celebration for Barack Obama. Andrea has also performed at the Kennedy Compound for the Robert Kennedy Memorial Fundraiser.
Andrea is on faculty at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in the voice department and has been a featured performer for the Steely Dan Commencement Concert honoring Steely Dan and recently performed in Singer's Showcase at the college debuting her song "So Real." Originally from Pittsburgh, Andrea studied with Maureen Budway and while at Berklee studied with Kevin Mahogany, Cheryl Bentyne of Manhattan Transfer and Mili Bermejo.
She has been featured on numerous CD's, and recently completed work on her long-awaited debut album "So Real" which showcases her vocal abilities and musical versatility. In addition to composing and producing 10 tracks on the album, Andrea handles lead and background vocals, trumpet and keyboards. From the driving funky energy of "Something About You Baby" to the sultry gospel ballad "If I Only Knew", this album has something to offer to audiences of all ages. It also features local heavyweights Amy Bowles and Mark Shilansky on keyboards, Dmitry Ishenko on bass, Rob Mitzner on drums and percussion, Casper Gyldensoe on guitar, with Jared Sims and Joel Yennoir rounding out the horn section
