FEATURING:
Steve Jenkins, bass
John Shannon, guitar
Louis Cato, drums |
Steve Jenkins has been involved with music since the age of three. His logic for wanting to play bass was simple; he just couldn't decide between the drums or guitar. This partially explains where his eclectic, versatile approach to his instrument comes from. A recent review of Jenkins's playing on David Fiuczynski's 2008 release "KIF express" sums up his unique style in one sentence: "He belongs in the vanguard of formidable young bass soloists, but he separates from that pack by locking down every groove that comes his way." In late 2004, Steve Jenkins released his first solo album--the critically acclaimed self-produced "mad science" featuring David Fiuczynski, Adam Deitch, and others. He is currently working on a follow up to be released in late 2009. Some of the musicians that he has recorded, toured, or performed with include: David Fiuczynski, Vernon Reid, Ingrid Michaelson, Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta), Wayne Krantz, Kenwood Dennard, Corey Glover, Keith Carlock, John Scofield, John Medeski, Graham Haynes, Screaming Headless Torsos, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Dean Bowman, Cindy Blackman, DJ Logic, Stephanie McKay (astralwerks recording artist), Sam Kininger, Adam Deitch, Steve Hunt, Eric Krasno(Soulive), Hiromi, Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, John Blackwell, Sean Rickman, Federico Gonzalez Pena, and many others. Steve is currently a member of Screaming Headless Torsos, David Fiuczynski's KIF, and Vernon Reid's solo project Masque. He proudly endorses DR strings, Aguilar Amplification, and Chunk Systems effect pedals.
