Davell bio:
Praised by many around the world, the city of New Orleans and its piano tradition has birthed more great and uniquely gifted pianists than any other place in the world. In fact, the piano tradition of The Big Easy has been deemed as "Sainthood." This honored privilege is held highly by the many locals and music connoisseurs from around the world.

Davell Crawford...Steinway & Sons Artist, is an all-around musical sensation, and is one of the true wonders of the contemporary Crescent City music scene. Yet his name has become synonymous with the New Orleans piano tradition and has long earned a living place in the legendary line of piano professors from the Crescent City where he’s considered music royalty, a young influential icon of Louisiana music.

Performing professionally since the age of seven, Davell has enjoyed a wild widely acclaimed career as an entertainer. He emerged as a teenage piano terror and for numerous years began to unfold his incredible talent at the most legendary jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs nonstop worldwide. Thereafter, Davell Crawford put forth years of somewhat reclusiveness and dedicated a large portion of his life to community efforts.

Over the last years, Davell has taken course at appearing live again and has found a renewed love for traveling and playing concerts before audiences. He now again tours the world performing to sold out audiences. Crawford is a committed advocate and tireless supporter of young artists and the arts in education. While touring and recording he is active in schools, gives master classes / workshops to artist ranging from choral and orchestral topics to artistry growth and the importance of American Roots Music – Traditional Jazz, Country, Gospel, Funk and R&B.

He is the grandson of 50’s R&B star, James "Sugarboy" Crawford, the author of the classic "Jock-A-Mo", aka "Iko-Iko", and the Godson of music legend, Roberta Flack .

Cited as one of the few musicians committed to keeping the piano sounds of New Orleans alive, he stands as one of the most versatile and most documented young piano players in America today and a mainstay at many festivals and venues worldwide. Hailed as "The Prince of New Orleans," he is honored as a Louisiana Music Ambassador.

Davell has collaborated with Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Aaron Neville, Roberta Flack, Donald Harrison, Steve Jordan, Wynton Marsalis, Bernard Purdie, Stephaine Mills, Big Freedia, Nona Hendrix, Ruth Brown, Lionel Hampton, Odetta and Johnny Adamsamong many others in music. He was a key player in many rap and early bounce recordings in New Orleans during the late 80’s and early 90’s. His honors include The Swiss Jazz Award and The Italian Medal of the Arts, among many others nationally and internationally. Davell has kept true to the tradition of American Roots music while adding a renewed and continued vitality.

It is a rare occasion to experience Davell Crawford live and one you’ll never forget.

Pedrito bio:
Pedro Pablo “Pedrito” Martinez was born in Havana, Cuba, Sept 12, 1973. Having settled in New York City in the fall of 1998, by 2000, he had been awarded the Thelonius Monk Award for Afro-Latin Hand Percussion and was featured in the documentary film, Calle 54.

Pedrito has recorded or performed with Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Paquito D’Rivera, Bruce Springsteen, and Sting and has contributed, as a percussionist and vocalist, to over 50 albums. Mr. Martinez was also a founding member of the highly successful, Afro-Cuban/Afro-Beat band, Yerba Buena, with which he recorded two albums and toured the world.

Pedrito’s career as a leader began in 2005 with the formation in NYC of The Pedrito Martinez Group. The group’s Grammy-nominated first album was released October, 2013 and was chosen among NPR’s Favorite Albums of 2013 and The Boston Globe Critics Top Ten Albums of 2013.

Habana Dreams, PMG’s second album, was released in June 2016. Guests include, Ruben Blades, Isaac Delgado, Wynton Marsalis, Descemer Bueno, Roman Diaz, Angelique Kidjo, and Telmary Diaz. Accolades for Habana Dreams include #1 Latin Jazz Album in NPR’s Jazz Critics Top Jazz Albums for 2016 and being named among Boston Globe World Music Albums for 2016.​
