Working in New York City, guitarist and composer Ricardo Grilli is one of the most prominent young voices of modern guitar. His most recent release "1954" features Aaron Parks, Joe Martin and Eric Harland and has received critical acclaim. He returns to the Blue Note with an exciting new group featuring Jon Cowherd (Brian Blade Fellowship) Doug Weiss (Al Foster, Peter Bernstein) and Kendrick Scott (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Terence Blanchard) that will focus on selections from 1954 as well as new compositions with a notable Brazilian influence of artists such as Toninho Horta and Milton Nascimento combined with Ricardo's modern jazz sound, inspired by artists such as Brad Mehldau, Brian Blade, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Chris Cheek.
