Baby do Brasil is considered one of the biggest Brazilian singers, and a music legend who has been revolutionizing the history of the Popular Brazilian Music (MPB). Baby is famous for her soft, indescribable and unique voice, and strong rhythmic versatility not only in her ballads but also in her electric songs. The success of her lyrics, like in “Sem Pecado e Sem Juízo”, “Cósmica”, “Telúrica” among many other ones, and interpretations of other artist’s songs like in “Menino do Rio” (Caetano Veloso), “Brasileirinho” (Waldir Azevedo), “Todo Dia Era Dia de Índio” (Jorge Ben Jor), among others, put her on the mainstream audience nationally and internationally. She deservingly earned the recognition of specialized critics.

After her performance in LA, she was featured in The Los Angeles Times saying that “She has the fury and the fire of the Latin Janis Joplin”.
She began her career along with Moraes Moreira, Galvão, Paulinho Boca de Cantor and Pepeu Gomes, artists that are considered nowadays some of the biggest names in the country. With them she created the Novos Baianos group.
The band started in 1970. Their second album “Acabou Chorare”,made them reach the national media. It was elected by the Rolling Stones magazine, among 100 specialized critics, as the best album of Brazilian musicof all times. After the success of the music movements of Bossa Nova and Tropicalismo, the Novos Baianos was recognized as the new Brazilian music movement with the fusion of all styles of Brazilian roots with the appearance of a new artistic language that has been influencing the new generation.
Her recent work “Baby Sucessos”, a project idealized and directed by her son Pedro Baby, a successful guitarist and composer himself, premiered at the Jockey Club Brasileiro by the end of 2012 in front of an estimated crowd of 5000 people. Since then, Baby has been selling out tickets in the biggest venues in the country, resulting in the making of her much-awaited CD and DVD. For theenjoyment and happiness of her fans, we will finally have the new CD and DVD of Baby do Brasil in the main stores of Brazil and of the world by the second half of 2014.
