From his beginnings with Miles Davis to his celebrated ensembles of today, Grammy Award winning bassist Dave Holland has one of the most enduring legacies in jazz. The Boston Globe praises Holland as “a master bassist and bandleader, one of the most sophisticated composers and arrangers in the jazz world.” Holland’s astounding succession of innovative recordings have consistently garnered the highest acclaim over the past forty years.

Following recent tours with the jazz supergroup Overtone Quartet and a current project with pianist Kenny Barron, Holland goes electric with his latest groundbreaking project: PRISM, featuring Kevin Eubanks, Craig Taborn, and Eric Harland. This jazz supergroup debuted at the Ottawa Jazz Festival this summer in what The Ottawa Citizen called, “an exuberant, rock-inflected affair filled with vivid and visceral music.” In support of their debut album, the all-star quartet will deliver surging, wildly expressive performances in the 2014/2015 season.Jazzwise Magazine calls the recording Holland’s “…most visceral recording for many years, recalling the uncompromising onslaught of his work with Miles [Davis] in 1970, and his own Extensions band in the late 1980s.”

American jazz guitarist Kevin Eubanks lead The Tonight Show Band with host Jay Leno from 1995 to 2010. He has played with musical icons including McCoy Tyner, Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Dave Holland and Ron Carter, and has appeared on more than one hundred albums.

Pianist Craig Taborn has released five solo albums to date, and was a featured member of Chris Potter’s Underground project. Experimental and ever-evolving, Taborn works predominantly in jazz, but also delvers into the dark ambient and electronic genres.

Drummer Eric Harland is recognized as one of the most innovative new drummers in jazz. The New York Timesstates he is “setting the rhythm of jazz’s future.” Down Beat’s Critics Poll awarded Harland 1st Place in “Rising Star Drums.”
