Crosswalk Anarchy brings together 5 musicians of wildly diverse backgrounds to tear through the fusion-jazz-hip hop originals of keyboardist Evan Waaramaa. Featuring a vocal instrument named Songyi Jeon, guitarist Andre Vasconcelos, Jamie Howell on drums, and Osmar Okuma on bass, the quintet powers through a repertoire inspired by the great fusion composers such as Robert Glasper, Chick Corea, Snarky Puppy, Oz Noy.
Since their formation in early 2013, they have been winning over audiences and critics, packing venues along the East Coast, holding a residency at Wally's Jazz Club in Boston, and performing in Festivals throughout Boston and New York City.
The group has appeared on bills with an assortment of very accomplished artists such as Oz Noy Trio, Miguel Zenón, Keith Carlock while continuing to push the boundaries between genres as it ascents through a wide array of music scenes.
Lately, the group has been in the studio putting long hours into what will be their first EP this fall, which will feature Evan's originals along with many special guest artists. This process will reach its climax on November 1st when the group will take on the stage of the Blue Note in New York City releasing its first official studio recording.
