Nickel and Dime OPS

In 2009, NYC lyricist Nickel Killsmics, was given the opportunity to record an album with some of New York City’s great jazz musicians. The result was Nickel and Dime OPS' premiere jazz/hip hop fusion release, Tragedy & Comedy, and a Thursday night residency at an NYC jazz club. They have been holding down this spot since September 2010. During this time the band has attracted some of the NYC scene's great musicians to come play with them. The 9 piece band normally features Freddie Hendrix, David Gibson, and Jason Marshall on horns, Joe Strasser, the general of the rhythm section on drums, along with Nickel on the mic and Victoria Cave on vocals. Nickel and Dime OPS is currently performing around the local scene and preparing to tour. They are also about to release their sophomore album, The Soulygamist, early this fall.
