The brainchild of saxophonist and composer Nick Myers, JuiceBox started spreading groovy, funky music around New York City in 2009. Originally featuring a rotating cast of some of the best young musicians in the city, the group solidified around singer Lisa Ramey and her sultry, soulful voice. With this new inspiration and energy, the group began killing late night sets in New York City downtown clubs and house parties. JuiceBox is always thrilling audiences with deep grooves, hard hitting solos and a never ending box of surprises.

The music of JuiceBox is an infectious blend of rhythm and blues, soul and funk. With the wailing sounds of the Hammond organ, funky guitar, a powerful horn section and the sensuous vocals of Lisa Ramey, they create an irresistible sound that is reminiscent of the most rhythmic music of the 1960′s and 70′s. They play timeless and classic grooves from James Brown, Bill Withers, Ray Charles and Sly and the Family Stone while supplementing their show with gems of their own. Lisa, Nick, and Isaac are continually composing original material that links the tradition of the past with the thrill of the future. With new hits in their arsenal, JuiceBox has played packed concerts at some of the more prominent New York City venues including the Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Hiro Ballroom, and 92YTribeca.

The band was created by saxophonist and producer Nick Myers. Nick is a graduate of New York University’s jazz program. In 2008 he was the recipient of the ’Massimo Urbani Award’ (the Italian equivalent of the prestigious Monk Competition) in Camerino, Italy. Nick was signed with Philology Records and released his first album, Deep Sea Fisherman, in 2008.
