NYU Jazz Brunch: Don Friedman
FEATURING:
Don Friedman, piano
Peter Cobb, saxophone
Jerry DeVore, bass
Shareef Taher, drums

Starting his career as a pianist on the west coast in the mid-1950s, Don Friedman played with an assortment of jazz icons including Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, Ornette Coleman, and Buddy DeFranco. In 1958, Mr. Friedman moved to New York City and continued playing with seminal figures in the jazz world. In addition to leading his own trio, he performed with Pepper Adams, Booker Little, and Clark Terry. Friedman has recorded for Prestige, Riverside, Owl, Empathy, and Progressive. He has also built a following in Japan with a number of tours and record releases on numerous Japanese record labels. Still residing in New York City, Mr. Friedman is active as a pianist and jazz educator.
