Mauricio Zottarelli is an award-winning drummer and artist. Even as a relatively young man, he already boasts a discography of over 70 titles and has worked with dozens of the most important artists of today, crossing over many musical styles. Born in Brazil, Zottarelli has spent much of his career on the vanguard of the Latin and Brazilian music scenes. In addition, he co-leads the jazz fusion project Dig Trio, which released its debut album in 2003.

2009 saw Zottarelli release his first solo album, 7 Lives. The album features several of his own compositions and an amazing lineup of some of the best names in jazz and Brazilian music. The drummer's latest album, Mozik, was released in October of last year. A collaboration with pianist Gilson Schachnik, the album has garnered praise from DownBeat Magazine, All About Jazz, and more.
