FEATURING:
Nina Vidal, vocals

Still relatively unknown in her own country, native New Yorker Nina Vidal first came to the public's attention in 2008 when her self-titled debut broke records in Japan. A week after its release it topped the charts at No. 1, remaining the top jazz album in the country for eight months. She followed this release with her sophomore effort The Open-Ended Fantasy (2010), which claimed the No. 1 spot in less than 24 hours. In total, five of her albums have reached No. 1 outside of the U.S., and more than 20 of her singles have reached the Top 10 around the world.
A throwback to a different era, Vidal's voice has been described as "a healing and emotional instrument." Her blend of jazz, soul, funk, pop, and world music, mixed with her poetic lyrical sense, has resonated with a modern audience looking for music of substance and quality.
Tonight at the Blue Note, Vidal will preview new material from her upcoming new album, due out in 2013, as well as return to some fan favorites.
